The year 7 and year 8 end of year exams are in June - to help you revise .....

See below for an outline of all the topics you will cover this year.
Year 7 End of Year Test:
There will be an end of year test the week in June.
1 Content based: This will include questions on all topics studied this year. Depending on the topics studied you will choose one additional question to answer at the end. We will discuss this with you prior to the test.
2 Skills based: This will include questions on investigative technique.
Year 8 End of Year Exam
The Year 8 end of year science exam will be in June.
You need to revise everything you have covered this year plus revise your investigation skills e.g. how to make tests reliable and do a fair test/ plotting graphs.

Year 7 Course Summary
The course is taught in topics covering physics, chemistry and biology. In Year 7 students start a new 2 year course called "Science Works" produced by Oxford University Press - which starts after a short 6 lesson introduction to "Science and Safety". The modules in "Science Works 1" are Cells, Forces, Acid Reactions, Reproduction, Energy, Particles, Differences, Electricity and Magnetism, Elements and Compounds, Classification, Space and Chemical Reactions

Year 8 Course Summary
The course is taught in topics covering physics, chemistry and biology. Following on from work done in year 7 - it follows the "Science Works 2" scheme of work: students cover topics on Life Support, Staying healthy, People and environment, Shaping life, The periodic table, Using elements, Metal reactions, What’s in rocks?, Heating and cooling, Light, Sound, Moving around.
